Kendibah

Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026  ·  Last updated: November 1, 2026

The short version: Kendibah has no accounts, no Kendibah servers, no analytics and no ads. We don't collect your data.

Kendibah finds your TVs on your Wi-Fi network and talks to them directly from your iPhone. What it learns about your TVs stays on your devices.

1. Who We Are

Kendibah is an iOS and watchOS application developed and published by Erik Jimenez ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how Kendibah handles your information.

If you have questions about this policy, you can reach us at [email protected].

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Kendibah has no user accounts and no servers we operate. We do not collect, receive, or store any of the following:

3. Your Local Network and Your TVs

Kendibah asks for iOS's Local Network permission. It uses it only to find TVs on your Wi-Fi network and to control them. Kendibah sends your commands, and any text you type or dictate to your TV, from your device straight to the TV over your local network. None of it passes through us.

To find and control a TV, Kendibah reads what the TV reports about itself: its name, model, network address, network hardware (MAC) addresses, its device identifier, and the features it supports. Depending on the TV, Kendibah may also read its list of apps and inputs and whether something is playing.

When you pair a Samsung TV, the TV shows a request from "Kendibah" and lists Kendibah among its connected devices. The TV keeps its own records under its manufacturer's policies.

4. What Kendibah Stores on Your Devices

Kendibah keeps the following on your iPhone, in storage shared only with its own widgets, Control Center controls, Now Playing feature and Apple Watch app:

A Samsung TV's pairing token and its security certificate are kept in your iPhone's Keychain. They stay on that device and never sync to your other devices.

Your iPhone shares your TV list and your unlock status with your paired Apple Watch through Apple's Watch Connectivity, so you can use the watch as a remote. This data is never sent to us. The stored TV list may be included in your iPhone's iCloud or computer backup.

Deleting Kendibah removes this data from your device.

5. Purchases

Kendibah's free trial and its Lifetime purchase are in-app purchases handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not see, receive, or store your payment information, credit card details, or billing address.

For information about how Apple handles payment data, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Now Playing, Live Activities and Controls

Kendibah can show your TV on the Lock Screen and in Control Center while you use it, and can show a Live Activity with remote buttons. These are created on your device from what your TV reports. Kendibah sends no push notifications and uses no server to update them.

7. Third-Party Services

Kendibah does not use advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, social media SDKs, or any other third-party data collection services.

Some features hand you off to your TV maker: managing Roku photos opens Roku's website inside Kendibah, and some Samsung settings open Samsung's SmartThings app. What you do there is governed by Roku's and Samsung's own privacy policies.

If you use dictation to type to your TV, your speech is processed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.

8. Children's Privacy

Kendibah is not directed at children under the age of 13. Because Kendibah does not collect personal information from any user, there is no data to collect from children. No account creation, no sign-up, and no personal data entry is required or possible.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, mention it in the App Store update notes. Continued use of Kendibah after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
